Vision of Hope Academy

We are continually looking to develop this work further and here are some of the projects we are working towards:-

U23 Academy in Citrusdal
This will be a 1 yr intense program offering training in trades, life skills, discipleship and discipleship for those that come through the academies in prison. AIS has been giving land on a farm outside Citrusdal to build a sports facility, hostel and training centre for inmates that have been gone through our programs and been released. The land already has a workshop to teach trades in order to equip inmates to start their own businesses or find employment. (Click here for more information)

Tours
We would like to take members of the academy on national and international tours. This will be essential to build relations with the community and other prisons.

Prison Academies
We would like to see this model reproduced in other prisons around South Africa and Internationally.

Soccer Teams in communities
We would like to start Hope Academy soccer teams in communities to continue relations and motivate academy members

School partnerships
We would also like to target schools to play matches against the academies. This will serve as a great opportunity for academy members to share about the dangers of prison and also how they have learnt from their mistakes

Internship Program
To have ex-inmates to do a 1 year training program with Ambassadors In Sport and run Hope Academy projects in prisons around South Africa.

Professional links
We have links with pro clubs in SA and want to take the sentenced academies to tour and play at Santos and Ajax training grounds for a day. This will build good relations between Correctional Services and Pro Clubs in Cape Town
