1. Soccer training and development of academy members. Hope Academy
coaches use international developed coaching material. We have UEFA
trained coaches working with the academies.
2. Spiritual development of academy members through bible teaching.
We have biblical studies that are relevant to specific issues the
inmates may be facing or have faced in the past. |
| 3. Life Skills Programs including team dynamics,
HIV & AIDS awareness, anger management, conflict resolution, first
aid, drug abuse, alcohol abuse, smoking, correct behaviour and attitude,
personal hygiene, restorative justice, relationships, financial management,
computer training, literacy and reading, health and diet. All of these
modules will be available from the Hope Academy Curriculum that will
be finalised by mid 2007. |

4. Church development - we currently have
the Way of Life Church in Khayletisha that is setting up an academy
specifically for inmates that come through Hope Academy in Pollsmoor.
We would like to develop similar models on communities around Cape
Town.
5. Counselling academy members when needed. Most inmates require time
and we believe in giving time to each member and looking to help them
with past issues, relationships, their cases and other issues that
they may need help with. |
